Focus on your thoughts as you read and learn the topic.

Gain the ability to distinguish between necessary and unnecessary things!


How?


1. Before starting a class or topic, read the end-of-lesson or past-paper questions


2. Briefly review the lesson or topic before class or reading


3. When studying in class or on your own, focus only on what the book or the teacher is emphasizing.


4. ONLY ask the meanings of the words you do not understand, BUT write down any question which comes to your mind AND try to figure out the answer to them at the end of the lesson. 


5. Review the end of the lesson or past paper questions after class or self reading and pay more attention to their solution.


6. Now look at the questions that come to your mind, are they relevant to your syllabus at the moment!


By practicing the above points over and over again, you will gain the ability to distinguish between necessary and unnecessary.

Relevant or Irrelevant

When I was at your age, say some 37 or 38 years ago, I didn't know anything about career guidance and distinguishing between relevant and irrelevant information. When I became a teacher in 1991 the first thing I did was start career guidance in my college as well as in coaching centres. At that time very few had any idea about this.
