Career Guidance

“I am highly interested in Chartered Accountancy but confused about few things, such as financial support, I also heard that it takes a lot of time in qualifying CA, and lastly, a friend failed several times even at initial stages of CA, is it really difficult to qualify?” Glad that students nowadays are raising very pertinent questions. No doubt the field of CA has maintained a remarkable reputation over the years.  Before catering to your queries about the CA qualifications, I would like to highlight two points. Firstly, there are very few students who get 80% + marks in their intermediate or A-Level exams and usually, in other fields, the merit for admission in top-ranked universities is very competitive. Because of one reason or other, many hardworking students are unable to get admissions or secure higher percentages in their previous exams. Institute of Chartered Accountancy of Pakistan (ICAP) offers admissions not only to those who secured excellent grades but also to those rem

Career Guidance

Effective way of learning!

Focus on your thoughts as you read and learn the topic. Gain the ability to distinguish between necessary and unnecessary things! How? 1. Before starting a class or topic, read the end-of-lesson or past-paper questions 2. Briefly review the lesson or topic before class or reading 3. When studying in class or on your own, focus only on what the book or the teacher is emphasizing. 4. ONLY ask the meanings of the words you do not understand, BUT write down any question which comes to your mind AND try to figure out the answer to them at the end of the lesson.  5. Review the end of the lesson or past paper questions after class or self reading and pay more attention to their solution. 6. Now look at the questions that come to your mind, are they relevant to your syllabus at the moment! By practicing the above points over and over again, you will gain the ability to distinguish between necessary and unnecessary. Thanks for reading the whole post carefully!

Sunset

If we think and meditate in the evening (around sunset), it leaves a deep mark on our thoughts and mind. Tomorrow, sit in solitude and think and meditate!

A New Day

Every morning and every night is a new morning and a new night only when you do something new, something good today!! But what to do?? Anything!!

Quote of the Day 10/6

“You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it.” ―  Maya Angelou Keep working hard! Do not give up!

Relevant or Irrelevant

When I was at your age, say some 37 or 38 years ago, I didn't know anything about career guidance and distinguishing between relevant and irrelevant information. When I became a teacher in 1991 the first thing I did was start career guidance in my college as well as in coaching centres. At that time very few had any idea about this. The point which I  realised later in my life is that in a society like ours one has to get this guidance by himself. Now, there is an abundance of guidance and information all around you, you just have to Google it, but now the problem is different and complex and I think again that very few are bothered about it. And that is to distinguish between relevant and irrelevant information or questions. Like in cricket it is very important to decide which ball to play and which to leave, which to stop and which to hit. Similarly, in studies in particular and life in general, it is pertinent to recognize what information or questions are relevant and what a
